In 1973 the company Port of Senta was founded and registered with the core competencies trading of building materials. In 1979 the port was relocated to the present strategic and geographic position and the construction of the new port is covering an area of cca 20 ha began on the right bank of the interstate river of Tisa at the 121-123 km. By the decision of the Federal Government, Port of Senta was declared as an international port.

Today the port is defined as a joint - stock company and is the only international port on the river Tisa. To the existing 8,900 m² of storage space were built another 9,360 m², and the new storage capacity of 18,000 m² facilitate and improve business of this modern commercial - transportation center. It is important to note that this strategic port, as commercial - transportation centre integrates river, railroad and road transport for the purposes of multimode transport.

Primary activity

The port has public and customs open and closed warehouses and perfoms trading services of the building materials. It also possess a custom terminal for both road and rail vehicles, as well as for all types of vessels. It is important to note that the Port of Senta transfer capacity is envious 1,000,000 tons of various goods. Transfer capacities are reflected in the excellent that is manifested in:

• two transfer points for vessels with the carrying capacity of up to 1,800 t
• a 25 t carrying arc loading bridge
• railroad and road lines
• equipment for loadin vessel with cereals and other bulk commodities
• unloading place for the rejection of construction material capacity of 120 t
• port machinery
• other objects.
